- Mode dial: A large disk on the top right of the camera.
- On/Off: A round switch that surrounds the shutter release button on the top right of the camera, towards the front.

- Exposure compensation: A small button with with *+/-* on it. It's near the on/off button, towards the right.
- Flash button: A small rectangular window on the left side of the camera near the built in flash.
- View Finder: A small rectangular window that is above the screen.
- Menu, multi selector/ok: A round black disk with arrows, with an"ok" button in the middle. Placed to the right of the screen on the backside of the camera.
- Memory card slot cover: A "door" on the backside corner that covers the memory card.
- Battery cover: A compartment on the bottom right of the camera that holds the battery.
- Tripod socket: A round silver shallow hole in the bottom of the camera that the tripod screws into.

- To delete all photos on the camera, hit the "Menu" button to the left of the screen. Select the "playback menu" button, then select delete all.
- To set the image quality to JPEG fine, select the "shooting menu" button (looks like a camera) and go to "image quality" and select , JPEG fine"
- If you go to the "shooting menu" and select "image size" you can choose to set your image size to large.
- To select auto mode on the dial, turn it so that the white mark on the camera that says "auto"
